Meet the team

Ramin and Jane Mostowfi – Co-Directors

Ramin and Jane are the husband and wife duo behind Food for Friends. Their shared love of food and eating out meant that these two were destined to leave the corporate world and own a restaurant, a dream that was fulfilled in 2004 when they took over Food for Friends.

Ramin is originally from Iran, and brings tales of sunnier lands and exotic Persian flavours. Prior to Food for Friends Ramin worked as a Management Consultant throughout the UK, now he is an expert at developing new dishes and running a successful restaurant.

Jane is a mastermind with recipes, there is not a cookbook worth having that she doesn’t own. She works closely with the chefs to consistently develop new ideas for dishes, and has adapted hundreds of recipes to allow for the various dietary requirements catered for in the restaurant. It is never a rare sight to find Jane in the kitchen, baking and desserts are her speciality!

Tomas Kowalski – Head Chef

Tomas started at Food for Friends as Sous Chef in March 2013 and was promoted to Head Chef  in July 2013.

Tomas’ passion stems from bringing ‘fresh flavours to old favourites’ while using local produce, inspired by his appreciation of nature. His aim is to create ‘modern, sophisticated cuisine, introducing and rediscovering the diversity of seasonal flavours’. Tomas is passionate about finding ‘traditional and forgotten tastes, aromas and essences’ with a keen interest in nutrition which is so welcomed at Food for Friends.

Tomas grew up in Poland and studied at culinary college in Poznan for 5 years. He then moved to Ireland to work for an award-winning gastro pub for 8 years, the last 2 as Head Chef. Other achievements include a wealth of work experience in Michelin-starred restaurants in London which include Arbutus and Wild Honey.
